Q: What is the purpose of having a monitored Security System?

A: With Secure Tech, your home or business is protected, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Imagine the peace of mind you will have knowing that when you are at home or away, your property is protected. With a residential alarm system, you, your family members and your cherished possessions are shielded from robbery. You will have full use of three panic buttons (police, medical, and fire) located on the keypad. When an alarm is detected, you will be contacted (work, cell, pager) and the proper authorities will be notified (police or guard service). Installing an alarm system will save up to 20% off your insurance premiums!

Q: How does an alarm report to central station?

A: When the alarm is triggered your alarm system uses your phone line to contact CounterForce central monitoring station.  Within seconds the monitoring station knows what sensor or zone has been tripped.

Q: How long will it take to install my security system?

A: This all depends on the size of the system, accessibility for wiring and amount of options being installed. A typical alarm system takes half a day to install.

Q: What is the advantage of having a monitored smoke detector?

A: Having a monitored smoke detector at your premise ensures that the fire department will be contacted if you have a fire emergency. A good  smoke detector will detect smoke particles caused by even a slow smoldering fire. If you are not at home, and do not have a monitoring service, odds are no one will hear your smoke alarm! Therefore it is important that someone monitor this device 24 hours a day! With this service, your smoke detector is continuously monitored through a 24 hour zone, even when your alarm system is not armed!

Q: Do you pay more to have other devices monitored?

A: You pay the same monitoring fee regardless of what other devices are being monitored! Therefore it makes a lot of sense to have other devices installed, such as carbon monoxide and smoke detectors! This way you will maximize the value of your monitoring.

Q: What happens when the alarm goes off?

A: CounterForce monitoring station will call your home to verify if you have set the alarm off accidentally and will ask for your password. If there is no answer after 5 rings or the correct password is not given, the proper authorities (Police or Guards) are immediately notified and dispatched to your premises. The monitoring station will proceed to go through the call list for the premises and try to reach a responsible party. The police or guards, once they have arrived will do a perimeter check of your premises, and look for any visible signs of forced entry. If none is found, they will leave. The alarm will reset itself after 4 minutes and the siren will stop sounding. If a break-in has occurred, the police or guards will notify the station, and report their findings to you.

Q: What happens in a power failure?

A: The system has a back-up battery located on the control panel. It automatically recharges itself once the power returns.


Q: How do I change my alarm code?

A: Press *5 then enter the current code, press 40 and then enter the new code. Then press # and then # again to exit.


Q: How do I change the time on my keypad?

A: Press * 6 then the code and then press 1 and enter the time in 24 hour format. Then press # and then # again to exit.
